Division 6 has been working really hard this term. We have already learned about fractions, multiplication and so much more in Math! One thing we are working on is being able to share our strategies orally. Students are encouraged to explain their thinking and share personal strategies with their peers.
Science Fair was very exciting too! Students presented their experiments to the class and tried their best to explain the science behind what they observed. Morgan and Anmol/Indy will be representing Division 6 at the School Fair on Thursday. Good luck to them!
In Language Arts, students are just finishing their novel studies and we are moving onto writing Top Ten Lists, based on some non-fiction books we have been looking at. We enjoyed the books so much that we are going to create our own!
In Social Studies we are going to be studying Japan very soon, but before we do, we are learning about what it means to use our "Questioning Brain" so that we can avoid stereotypes and seek out reliable information.
Students are also continuing to work on their own Genius Hour projects and blogs. We have also been trying out BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and students have been allowed to use their personal iPod Touches/Tablets/Etc to aid in research during class. They have been very responsible so far and are making me very proud.
There isn't much time left until Spring Break but we are working hard to learn as much as we can during the next couple of weeks!
